Gevaert achieved recognition for his arrangements and adaptations for music perfomers and publications of early music. He published for example the series Les gloires d’Italie, with translations by Victor Wilder, and the Répertoire classique du chant.
Furthermore he put out a new edition of Glucks Armide.
